April Dace

Executive Producer, Chief Coffee Maker

April Dace is a co-production of Jack Dace (Dad) and Donna Mohr (Mom). She’s also a production of Detroit where she spent her childhood. Even now, after two decades in Nashville, April credits her Midwest upbringing with her entrepreneurial spirit and solid work ethic.

After graduating from the University of Michigan and logging six years at a renowned Detroit advertising agency, April left the Motor City in pursuit of a more creatively fulfilling career. Eventually, her search brought her to Nashville and she knew she’d found her place.

Twenty years later, April Dace is a respected producer and creator extraordinaire. Music videos, commercials, documentary shorts, still photography, television series…her name is tied to all kinds of high-profile projects. Her work has appeared in Billboard Magazine, Glamour, Condé Nast and Rolling Stone —and that’s just the printed stuff.

Don’t think all the attention has gone to her head though. April loves people and is passionate about the concierge aspect of her business. Some might say she’s a natural-born hostess. We like to think it’s the Nashville in her.

Jen Bates

Producer, Wrangler, Showbiz Mom

Jen Bates is our master relationship builder, and when it comes to getting things done, she’s top notch. That’s why she's in charge of strategic partnerships and business management. Did we mention she's also a professional photographer and noted producer?

A small town Indiana girl at heart, Jen is now a faithful Nashvillian (10+ years) who got her start in Music City at age 22, shooting behind-the-scenes photography on music video sets. Since then, she’s been exploring the creative community, honing her production skills, and making her mark on the entertainment industry.

What you might not know about Jen is that she is a former teacher with a Masters of Education. Corralling a classroom of third-graders and enticing them to reach for the best, is a lot like her role at Dace+Mohr. She connects the moving parts of a project, gets to know individuals and their stories, and makes sure their collective "best" is the only outcome we provide.

Jen’s repertoire spans from project collaborations with Taylor Swift, Alabama Shakes, and Carrie Underwood, to big-name brands like Coca-Cola, ESPN, and Mercedes-Benz.

Oh, and she's also mom to star-pup, Benji, who has yet to receive his SAG card but who's growing roster of work includes Miranda Lambert’s video, “We Should Be Friends”.

Dace & Mohr has local, national and international clients, and we treat them all the same. Because if there’s one thing we take the most pride in, it’s being honest, thoughtful, and downright pleasant to work with. Whether we’re producing under our name or yours, just tell us what you need and we’ll make it happen.

Around the campfire or on set, we love storytelling. It’s a passion that carries over into everything we do—from working directly with creatives to come up with original content, to jumping on board with an existing team to bring ideas to life.

Need some help in the logistics department? We can give you a hand with the not-so-glamorous stuff too.
